| Thank you to everyone involved in promoting the
taster courses!
Each taster required a large amount of promotion through a wide range
of tactics: local postering, targeted mail-outs, school bags, adverts in Parish
newsletters and local free papers such as the Fakenham Sun. We also used
'What's on' listings in the Reepham Post and the Aylsham Post and local
radio.
Much of the success of the project was down to 'word of mouth'
recruitment. Tasters were promoted at other events going on locally, from
parent-toddler groups to WI, Friends (Parent/teacher groups) and through
other local groups, everything from the British Legion to Armature
Dramatics groups to Weight-watchers were involved in spreading the word! |
We wanted to help people move on to other
courses or to improve their job prospects where appropriate. We are
pleased that the programme managed to achieve this aim. This required
collaboration with Adult Education, Paston College, COWA and independent
tutors.
What you said about 'Let's get Learning'
You liked the the 'small friendly, local, free classes'. You said it
was good to feel listened to and that you felt the tasters really did help
you to realise you ambitions in the longer term. At a grass-roots level
you feel this project has successfully encouraged many reluctant learners
into learning |
